The state's Campaign Reporting Act applies to:

• all political party groups and political action committees

• all groups organized to support or oppose a referendum

• every person or group participating in activities that support or oppose the nomination or election of one or more clearly identified candidates, or a political party or a referendum

REQUIRED TRAINING FOR TREASURER CERTIFICATION ONLINE ACCESS

Self Registration is now available

Now it is simple, fast and easy to sign up for your required Treasurer Training course with self registration on the official e-learning site of the campaign finance department of the North Carolina State Board of Elections.

To access the required training course click on the following link http://216.139.205.174/ekp_ncsbe and then select "self register" on the left side of your screen.

Next you will enter the information requested and click continue.  This process is necessary so that we can document all users and to insure that you receive credit for the course.  Make sure that you provide the information completely including the name of the candidate or  committee.  (You should write down your username and password.  It will be necessary for you to enter this later when logging in to the training program.

After you have successfully entered and saved your required information you will see the home page.  You will then need to log out and log back in using your username and password that you created in the self registration.  You should then be able to begin the training session by clicking on the name of the training course (Campaign Finance Compliance Training 2008 - 2) under the section Knowledge Tools on the right side of your screed (if this does not appear you may need to refresh your screen).  You can exit and re-enter the training course if necessary.  You will need to log out and log back in (using your user name and password) each time.

REQUIRED TRAINING FOR TREASURER CERTIFICATION

IN PERSON ACCESS

The dates below are those that are currently scheduled.  The State Board of Elections may schedule additional dates.  This training is required for all treasurers of registered committees.  Treasurers may sign up for training at the State Board of Elections, a regional county site that is more convenient or take the training online.  Instructions are available above.

Note:  Please make every effort to arrive on time, persons arriving more than 15 minutes late may be required to reschedule and will not be issued a Certificate of Completion.  The State Board of Elections reserves the right to cancel any session due to poor registration or inclement weather, at which time all persons registered will be notified
